I read a health tip on another site that suggested adding one healthy change a week to to your routine so that, in a year’s time, you’ll have 52 brand new ways helping you get healthier.
Great idea, but that still might seem pretty overwhelming. I suggest you break it down to whatever works or seems possible to you. What about just one healthy change a month? It might not seem like much, but, again, at the end of a year, you will have gained 12 healthy habits. That’s much better than where you’ll be in a year if you do none!
Small changes can work wonders. Plus when you incorporate small changes over time, it doesn’t seem so overwhelming. You only have to concentrate on that one thing. In a month of effort, that change will integrate into being just part of your day. It no longer will seem to require extra work. Then you can simply go about your day, new great habit in place, and move on to the next healthy change.
Wondering where to start? What do you think would make a difference? Quickly answer that without over thinking it or debating it. That probably is your best answer.
Still stumped? Read through this blog to get more ideas. Could you go to bed a little earlier? Do something relaxing (instead of e-mail, TV and more electronics) before bed so you sleep easier? Drink a glass or two of water during the day? Give up items with high fructose corn syrup? Find a fun activity to participate in? Get a massage? Learn meditation and make time in your day to do it? Eat a piece of fruit? Go for a walk? Learn more about natural supplements? The list is endless.
